A request to update and renovate a bedroom in a live psychiatric ward. Professionalism and speed is key for this project.
- Works carried out in a live psychiatric ward.
- Existing Corian wall protection has blown & water has got under the flooring.
- Isolate water.
- Remove shower & WC & place to one side.
- Remove Corian flooring boxing in round to the door & dispose of.
- Following removal of Corian it was found that the existing timbers were rotten throughout shower area & flooring required a DPM prior to any flooring works.
- Supply & deliver 1no dehumidifier to site & leave in room, attend each day to empty unit.
- Remove rotten timbers throughout shower & dispose of in skip (off site).
- Supply & install new C12 plywood sheeting to shower area.
- Apply a DPM to existing flooring prior to any latex.
- Silicone seal where necessary.
- Uplift existing vinyl & dispose of.
- Leave shower floor to dry out a few days.
- Once dry prepare sub floor ready for new vinyl.
- Supply & lay new Polysafe STD vinyl flooring, cap & cove will go 200mm up the walls.
- Supply & install new whiterock sheet (colour TBC) to areas of wall where Corian was removed.
- Apply sealant used on any joins, top & bottom apply anti-pick mastic.
- Reinstate shower controls & check all working correctly on completion.
