A request to update and renovate a bedroom in a live psychiatric ward. Professionalism and speed is key for this project.

  1. Works carried out in a live psychiatric ward.
  2. Existing Corian wall protection has blown & water has got under the flooring.
  3. Isolate water.
  4. Remove shower & WC & place to one side.
  5. Remove Corian flooring boxing in round to the door & dispose of.
  6. Following removal of Corian it was found that the existing timbers were rotten throughout shower area & flooring required a DPM prior to any flooring works.
  7. Supply & deliver 1no dehumidifier to site & leave in room, attend each day to empty unit.
  8. Remove rotten timbers throughout shower & dispose of in skip (off site).
  9. Supply & install new C12 plywood sheeting to shower area.
  10. Apply a DPM to existing flooring prior to any latex.
  11. Silicone seal where necessary.
  12. Uplift existing vinyl & dispose of.
  13. Leave shower floor to dry out a few days.
  14. Once dry prepare sub floor ready for new vinyl.
  15. Supply & lay new Polysafe STD vinyl flooring, cap & cove will go 200mm up the walls.
  16. Supply & install new whiterock sheet (colour TBC) to areas of wall where Corian was removed.
  17. Apply sealant used on any joins, top & bottom apply anti-pick mastic.
  18. Reinstate shower controls & check all working correctly on completion.
